Jerry Richardson proved last season he'll take advantage of the lack of a floor... so if that happens, I'd look for the Panthers to trade down. I think the only way Richardson will want anything to do with paying a #1 pick is if there is a rookie pay slotting system in place with a new CBA - and it's really doubtful that's going to happen before the draft.
